On Friday 5 May, the Swan Trade Training Centre held its annual Fathers Lawn Bowls Night.
To ensure good weather the event was held earlier this year, resulting in a magnificent evening for the 30 students, fathers and staff who attended the wonderful setting on the river of Maylands Peninsula Sport and Recreation Club. Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the night’s sport, food and competitive banter. Nothing brings out banter better than a competitive social gathering!
Assisted by club president Graeme Jacques and volunteer helpers, sons, fathers and teachers all made their way to the greens to try to master the art of lawn bowls, which is surprisingly much harder than it looks. Lawn Bowls is a game for a patient person with steady hand and eye, many of whom were not present on the night, however there were one or two, students included, who certainly excelled.
A very special thanks to Graeme, Simone, Steve and John from the club for the opportunity and their expertise and hospitality on the night. The STTC looks forward to their next outing. Consider Lawn Bowls for your next work social outing, or just drop in – clubs and members would welcome you warmly.
