Yesterday the Junior School held our annual Mother’s Day celebration.
This year all the classes from KG to Year 6 were opened for mums to visit. The day began with a performance of songs in the Maali Mia, then all of our guests were invited to visit classrooms where special handmade trinkets and gifts were lovingly shared. There were a range of activities such as hand massages, nail painting, writing class poetry, sharing snacks and conversations and most of all, the simplicity of spending time together. We had a lot of honorary guests – nannas, aunties and big sisters that helped fill the spot for mums who were unable to attend. The students and staff appreciate the time that was taken to come and visit.
The celebration ended with a lovely morning tea in the undercover area. Thank you again to all of our guests – we hope you felt loved and cherished!
Here are some snippets of what students enjoyed about our Mother’s Day morning:
“I got to paint my mum’s nails. I liked it because there were lots of different colors”. Blake M
“I enjoyed spending time with my mum and having milk and cookies”. Lyla M
“I liked singing the Mother’s Day song because it is a beautiful song and I really liked it”. Ava Z
