Kindy A went on their very first school excursion. The students were very excited to be go on the bus (many for the first time) and to be visiting the Regis Aged Care facility.
This valuable excursion provided an opportunity for students to interact with the residents in meaningful ways including; sharing stories, playing parachute games, blowing bubbles and singing “You are My Sunshine” (with sign language).
Students were enriched with the joy of serving others, showing love, empathy and experiencing the value of connecting with their community. Below are reflections by some the students who attended the Regis visit:
Kobi – “This was the best trip ever! The old people were nice… I wasn’t shy, I blowed bubbles with them.”
Patrick – “I liked the bumps on the bus! I sang “Wheels on the Bus” right, right, right at the back of the bus.”
Cassidy – “The bus was so fun! I also liked the story that our old friend told us and I liked giving them flowers.”
Hudson – “I liked the grandma. I blew bubbles and she gave me a hug.”
Indigo – “I liked giving the presents to everyone. They smiled and said thank you!”
