The CBCA Book Week 2018 was celebrated during Week 5 in the Junior School. The theme for Book Week this year was ‘Find Your Treasure’.
Friday 24 August was a beautiful sunny day for the Junior School Book Week Dress Up Parade. Students and teachers dressed as something related to the theme or their favourite book character. There was much excitement as the many and varied, creative costumes were paraded for all to see.
While the judges deliberated after each group had paraded, several teachers read excerpts from some of our library books and the Bible with stories about treasure.
The grand parade showcased the wonderful costumes with winners being announced. Thank you, parents, for helping your children to have such wonderful costumes. Winning costumes for each cluster were:
Kindy / Pre-Primary – Riagan U (PPB) as Captain Underpants
Years 1 and 2 – Eleri H (1A) as a mermaid
Years 3 and 4 – Ella J (4B) as Gangster Granny
Years 5 and 6 – Mikaela T (6C) as the White Witch from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Thank you to all who participated and joined in the fun. A gold coin donation to dress up and a sausage sizzle raised funds to assist with the work in the Philippines. A special ‘thank you’ to parents who came to help prepare the sausage sizzle.

Adelina M (2A) – I liked that every class went on stage and showed everyone what their costume was like.
