The graduating class of 2019 received a fitting farewell at the College on Friday 20 September.
The students began the day with their mentor teachers, as they shared a barbecue breakfast together on the front oval. Following this, the Farewell Assembly began and students were drummed in by the Drum Corp to a room filled with their family members, staff and the Year 7-11 students. Dean of Year 12, Mrs Poole, and Principal, Mr Scott, addressed the assembly in their own inimitable styles, while Indiana Edman shared a timely word about strength with her peers. Jolyon Joyce, Ethan Maddocks, Lachlan Hanley and Ella Hanley provided an excellent musical interlude with a cover of ‘Californication’ by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers prior to morning tea.
Before the students were given the rockstar treatment by the Junior School students, who created a guard of honour, the Year 12s and Year 11s spent time in the Maali Mia at a student-run assembly, sharing student-nominated awards, watching nostalgic footage, laughing at a performance by the teachers and spectating a beauty pageant.
