During Term 3, all students in Year 7-12 had the opportunity to sign up and participate in the Interhouse Netball competition.
It is a round-robin competition where each House plays each other once in a 20 minute game over five weeks. At the end of the competition we will hold a Grand Final for the two highest finishing Houses.
There are three age group categories in which students can participate – Year 7 and 8, Year 9 and 10 and Year 11 and 12. Each team plays at a different lunch time and it is a mixed team sport, with the main modification being that only three male students are allowed on the court at once.
There have been three rounds played so far and it is close across all age groups.
In the Year 7 and 8 competition there is a three-way tie for 1st place with Bennett, Kennedy and Mungulu. In the Year 9 and 10 competition, Mungulu is currently in 1st position and in the Year 11 and 12 competition Mungulu is also on top of the ladder after three rounds.
It is so important that teams keep getting filled and students turn up at 12:55pm for the start of the match. The overall Champion House for the Year is still up for grabs so any points Houses can get from this competition could mean the difference in winning and losing.
