Our Year 7-9 students enjoyed a Christmas service in the Maali Mia on Thursday which included joyful carols performed by the Swan Christian College staff band and an impactful message by guest speaker Tim Healy.
Mr Simon Bergin, Deputy Head of Middle School, addressed the students at the service and commended them for their good conduct and cheerful attitude during the celebration.
He challenged each of the students to take a moment on Christmas Day, right after they wake up on Christmas morning, to think of one person that they would like to thank and show gratitude to. Mr Bergin encouraged students to pick a moment in the midst of their family’s celebrations on Christmas Day to say thank you to that person.
“Whether it is Mum or your aunty, or someone else who has put in a lot of work behind the scenes to make your family’s Christmas Day celebrations happen – make sure to take a moment to show them that you are thankful for them.”
Guest speaker Tim Healy shared the heart and soul of the Christmas story with the students, encouraging them to think about how unexpected gifts can often be the best kind of gifts, and how Jesus is the ultimate unexpected gift from God to humankind.
He said that he was impressed with the students’ energy, receptivity, attentiveness and enthusiasm during the Christmas service.
Please join us in thanking Tim Healy for spending this time with our students.
May Christmas bring joy to your heart and happiness to your home.
