Busy Term of Sport in Senior School

It’s been a busy and enjoyable first term of sport in the Senior School. Approximately 160 students represented the College at interschool sport across cricket, tennis, basketball, ultimate Frisbee and swimming.

We also had approximately 200 students represent their house at the swimming carnival and/or lunchtime volleyball.

This week both the interschool NEAS competition and the house volleyball will play finals. Five of our NEAS basketball teams made the grand final and will be playing at various locations throughout the week for the opportunity to progress to the next phase of the competitions. I would like to acknowledge two of our Year 10 students, Darcy and Coby, for doing an excellent job of coaching our two Year 7 teams.

Four houses will be represented in the volleyball finals for their last chance to be crowned the overall volleyball champions, adding to their total on the house points leaderboard.

ACC Swimming

On Friday 26 March approximately 60 students represented the College at the ACC interschool swimming carnival. Competing in D-Division we were in third place for most of the day, eventually just dropping to fourth in the final result. It was a great day, and I am very proud of the way the team competed and supported each other.

A special mention goes to our female swimmers who were crowned aggregate champions.

Individually the following students placed highly in their age groups:

Outstanding Achievement

This term Year 9 student Jeandre has been competing at state level in athletics. Recently in the WA Little Athletics Track and Field Championships he placed first in both the 100m and 200m sprint finals. Congratulations Jeandre!
