Have a Blessed Easter

As we prepare to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection these coming days, I am reminded of the words of Martin Luther who said, “Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring-time.” And as we read in John 11:25, Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die”.

As we pause from our busy lives and the uncertainty that COVID-19 has bought into our world, it is beneficial to remember that we are God’s children, and we commemorate the gift of His love.

As I said to the students in assembly last week, we held services this Thursday to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection. I believe this is the most important service in the Christian calendar. It celebrates God raising his son Jesus from the dead as well as the destruction of the power of sin and death forever. It symbolises the opening of Heaven with the gift of eternal life for everyone.

It was wonderful to have an opportunity to chat with many parents during the Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews this week. The chance to review each child’s learning and discuss ways we can improve is valuable and, while it was a long, hot, and tiring day for the teachers, the learning outcomes will be beneficial as we move into Term 2.

Let me wish you all a blessed Easter and a peaceful and relaxing holiday. I look forward to welcoming you all back, healthy, happy, and refreshed for the start of Term 2.
