Swan Christian College is looking for expressions of interest from parents and alumni who are working in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related disciplines and would be happy to talk to our Year 10 students about their career pathway.

The College will be holding a ‘STEM Speed Networking’ event on Monday 28 June to give our Year 10 students the opportunity to learn more about STEM careers and pathways.

To make this event a success, we need your help!

If you are working in a STEM-related discipline and would be happy to talk to our students about your occupation and career pathway, we would love to hear from you!

The Year 10 cohort will be split up into small groups for this event, so you will only have to talk for five minutes to a maximum of eight students per rotation, with an opportunity for students to ask you questions after that. You may wish to talk about what you do, what kind of industries your career has taken you and what sort of education you received to get there.

The event will take place during Periods 4 and 5, with a lunch break in the middle.

Event Schedule: Monday 28 June

  • Session 1: 11:50am – 12:45pm (Period 4)
  • Lunch (provided by the College if attending both sessions)
  • Session 2: 1:25pm – 2:20pm (Period 5)

Express your Interest

If you would like to generously volunteer your time for one or both of the sessions, please:

  • Complete this Expression of Interest form (including your name, contact details and availability on the day).
  • Be ready to talk for five minutes about what you do for a living and how you got there (career pathway).

Please note that, as per the College’s child protection policy, all participating parents will have to complete a short set of child protection modules before the event. Further information about these modules will be made available once we have received your expression of interest.
