On Friday 10 September, the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) will be visiting Swan to conduct testing on some of our students from Year 6-11. The intention behind this testing is two-fold: to test the students physically and to identify whether any of our students will be invited to join one of the WAIS high-level training programs for kayaking and cycling.
Students are not required to accept an invitation to attend one of these programs, however, we have found over the past few years that the testing conducted by WAIS was able to identify a number of talented students who have now gone onto state representation in those disciplines.
Students will be identified and invited by their PE teacher or myself to participate in the testing.
If you feel your child would benefit from being involved, I am happy to have that conversation.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at the College.
