The English department had the pleasure of hosting author T.C. Shelly who wrote the young adult novels The Monster Who Wasn’t and The Werewolves Who Weren’t for a novel-writing workshop with invited students.
24 students in Years 7-9 signed up for the opportunity to extend their creative writing skillset. The students displayed a passion for creative writing and many of them are writing their own short stories at home for fun.
The whole day workshop for students included learning about the key components that should go into every novel, activities to learn how to structure a novel, dedicated time to work on their own novel ideas as well as personalised feedback from Shelly about their writing.
It was a joy to inspire future authors amongst our students! We hope they feel encouraged to continue writing and are better equipped for a successful writing career.
