The City of Swan has written to us to update us on the City’s school parking program.
Patrols have been occurring and the City has completed educational visits to all schools included in the program. The City has now moved into the enforcement phase of the program and over 130 Caution/Infringement Notices have been issued to date. This clearly indicates that parents and community members are parking unsafely and illegally around schools.
The City would appreciate if all parents and visitors are made aware of the importance of parking safely and legally by complying with the City’s Local Laws related to parking. To assist with understanding the parking Local Laws, the City‘s School Road Safety Guide to reinforce the key messages around school road safety, including safe parking practices is available via the City’s website under the “Parking near schools” tab at the following link: Safe-and-legal-parking.
