We’re thrilled to share an incredible achievement from one of our former students, Savannah Matthews, who graduated in 2019. Her artwork has earned a coveted spot in The Lester Prize, a renowned Australian art exhibition (formerly known as The Black Swan Prize).
Savannah, once a Visual Arts student under the guidance of dedicated Swan teacher, Mrs Nicky Tonkin, pursued her passion for the arts at Edith Cowan University after graduating. Her talent and passion have led to this remarkable recognition.
Mrs Tonkin had the honour of attending the Lester Prize exhibition as Savannah’s guest, capturing a few snapshots of her outstanding work.
As a College, we are immensely proud of Savannah and her artistic accomplishments. This is not only a reflection of her talent but also a testament to the support and guidance she received from Mrs Tonkin and the Visual Arts department during her time at our school.
To witness Savannah’s artwork in person, visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia, where the exhibition runs until 26 November. If you would like to cast your vote for the “People’s Choice” award and explore the complete collection online, please use the links below:
