From 12-16 August, Swan Christian College celebrated National Science Week with a range of fun and educational activities. Students participated in a daily Mentor Group Quiz, testing their science knowledge during Mentor Time.
On Monday, students made “Worm Farms in a Jar” during lunch, and on Tuesday, they began building solar cars, which were later raced on Thursday. Wednesday featured a presentation on “Bees! Bees! Bees!” in the amphitheatre and a special morning tea for the Science staff.
Thursday also included an “All About Psychology” info session, and on Friday, students explored the effects of microplastics through a fish dissection activity.
In the Junior School, students got creative by building arcade machines from cardboard.
National Science Week was a great success, encouraging students to engage with science in fun and hands-on ways.
