On Monday morning, 9 December 2024, we welcomed Bendigo Bank to our gathering to recognise one of our remarkable Year 4 students, Bridgette D B, for her incredible fundraising efforts. This young student, who participates in the ROAR program as part of the Bendigo Band of Community Kindness, organised a Colour Run to raise money for a seizure assistance dog for a family friend.
With immense dedication, Bridgette spearheaded this initiative, even approaching the College for start-up costs and securing a pledge from Bendigo Bank to match the amount she raised. Her efforts were nothing short of extraordinary, raising over $6,000 for this important cause.
The family is now just $5,500 away from reaching their $35,000 goal. Bendigo Bank has stepped in to cover the balance with a donation directly to the dog training company, a not-for-profit organisation. Additionally, they have expressed their willingness to support future local dog training needs, inspired by Bridgette’s incredible work.
To celebrate her outstanding achievement, Bendigo Bank presented Bridgette with a $250 Bank Account Voucher as a token of appreciation.
This young lady’s initiative and kindness have truly made a difference, and we are immensely proud of her for demonstrating two of the College’s core values, ‘Spirituality’ and ‘Excellence’ and what it means to care for others in our community. Congratulations to Bridgette on this well-deserved recognition!
