School Representatives

Parent Committees, College Meetings and Student Class Representatives

Swan Christian College is an educational institution that values and encourages parental involvement. In recognition of this, the College offers parents the opportunity to participate in various committees within the College community.

There are two committees in particular where parents can play an active role: the Christian Life Committee and the Parents in Partnership Committee.

Being a parent at Swan Christian College is more than just dropping off your child at the gates in the morning. It is also an opportunity to get involved in the College community and contribute to the overall growth and development of the College and its students.

The Christian Life Committee comprises parent representatives who regularly meet with the Principal and prayerfully support the College.

The committee is responsible for:

  • Prayerfully supporting the aims and objectives of Swan Christian College.
  • Representing the views and interests of parents at Swan Christian College.
  • Providing feedback, support and advice to the Principal.
  • Raising funds and in-kind support for College activities and projects.
  • Identifying and encouraging eligible College Members to become members of the Swan Christian Education Association.
  • Support Swan Christian College in promotion and marketing.

Any parent who is an Association Member may stand for election to the Christian Life Committee. For more information about the nomination process, please get in touch with the PA to the Principal, Mrs Natalee Friend on (08) 9374 8300 or Natalee.friend@swan.wa.edu.au

Any parent who is interested in becoming a member of the Swan Christian Education Association, please click here. By being a member of the Swan Christian Education Association, you will enjoy the benefit of the following:

  • Voicing your input and shaping our future
  • Be eligible to join the College Christian Life Committee
  • Participate and vote at Association meetings
  • Attend Association social events
  • Join in praying for our students

The Swan Christian College Parents in Partnership Committee comprises a group of dedicated class representatives who coordinate activities outside of school hours to strengthen a sense of belonging within our community. The Class Representatives are nominated at the beginning of each year and meet with the College Principal once per term.

Parents interested in becoming a Class Representative please contact Mrs Deb Schorer at deborah.schorer@swan.wa.edu.au

All parents are welcome to attend the prayer meetings held during school terms on Monday mornings from 8:20 – 8:40am in the College Board Room (near the café). To find out more or to send us your prayer requests please email: swanparentprayerteam@swan.wa.edu.au

The difference between a School Member and an Association Member:

  • All parents who enrol their child/ren at Swan Christian College automatically become School Members.
  • School Members who have a vision for and commitment to Christian education may apply for Association Membership.

For more information about School or Association Membership, you can speak with a College Parent Committee member or check the SCEA website.

Each year the College holds an Annual College Meeting (ACM) and all parents are welcome to attend.

This is an opportunity to hear about what has been happening in the life of the College, and to meet with and vote for the parents who represent you on the College Parent Committee.
