No. Swan Christian College welcomes all enrolment enquiries whether your family is actively involved in a Christian church community or not. If you decide to enrol your child at Swan Christian College, you will find that our community includes families without any church/religious background as well as families with a strong church background.

However, it is important to note that we deliver the Australian curriculum with a Christian worldview. All our teachers are practicing Christians who are actively involved in their local church community, covering a wide spread of different church denominations.

Our main intake years are Kindergarten, Year 4, Year 7 and Year 11. From time to time, we may be able to offer places in other year groups as well, depending on whether we are able to accommodate them in the relevant year. Places are offered subject to an interview with the parents and the student.

The College offers two languages – one European language (French) and one Asian language (Japanese).

Junior School

Students in Years 2-6 participate in weekly Japanese lessons led by a Specialist teacher. Through exploring Japanese language and culture, students develop essential communication and intercultural understanding skills and also foster their sense of identity through comparing their own cultural and social practices to the Japanese people.

Senior School

Students in Year 7 are required to select either French or Japanese. They will have two hours of the language for the whole year and will continue to study the same language in Year 8. The courses foster communication and cultural skills through the four language modes of reading, writing, viewing, speaking and listening, and cover the WA Curriculum Languages strands of Communicating and Understanding. From Year 9, students can choose to continue with the language they studied in Year 8, or switch to another optional subject.

The College offers a unique program for those students that continue with their language study through to Year 10, whereby they can obtain the nationally recognised TAFE Certificate II in Applied Languages. Students who continue with Japanese or French in Year 11 and 12 are able to complete the TAFE Certificate III in Applied Languages as well as use Japanese or French to contribute to their ATAR.

Students from Years 5-12 participate in the Learning with Technology program and are required to bring their own device to class. Click here to learn more about the program.
