Congratulations to one of our Swan alumni, Aimee Schmidt (Class of 2010) who recently signed with the West Coast Eagles in the AFL Women’s League (AFLW).

Aimee previously played for Greater Western Sydney (2017-2021) and is known to be a “pacey” forward who can “kick long on the run and take a leaping mark”.

General Manager of Community and Game Development Richard O’Connell said in an interview on westcoasteagles.com.au that Aimee’s five years of AFLW experience will be an important factor in the Eagles’ third season in the AFLW.

“As a player, her versatility and goal sense are attributes that have interested us.”

Aimee said that “it’s good to be finally at home, and back with the family. I grew up supporting the Eagles, so it’s a nice homecoming to be back wearing an Eagles jumper.”

“I was at the Giants for five years, and it came to that point in my life where I just wanted to be home. COVID made a big impact on that, so I reached out to the Eagles, and they welcomed me with open arms, so it’s fantastic to be here.”

The College would like to congratulate Aimee on her achievement. Welcome home!
