Some of the aspiring leaders in Year 11 have been taking part in a public speaking workshop under the tutelage of award-winning Toastmaster, Luke George. These students were nominated by their peers due to their ‘leadership material’. The fourteen students have been, in their words, thrown into the deep end of public speaking by presenting both impromptu and prepared speeches.
Each week the students have received valuable constructive criticism on the things that their audience liked and received ideas to lift their content and performance to the next level. Later in 2023, once the Student Leadership Team for 2024 has been finalised, these students will assist Mr George in a half-day workshop by training up their peers to be confident public speakers.
