On 13 September, the College Captains and Christian Union Captains took part in Compass – a student leadership and spiritual formation training session, gaining valuable skills to help shape the culture at Swan Christian College. Held at the SCEA office in Midland, the Compass student leader conference combined fun and learning in a meaningful way.
Guest speaker Mark Ryan, Executive Officer of Christian Schools Australia, South Australia, delivered an engaging and insightful talk that resonated with all attendees. He challenged student leaders to think deeply about the big questions of life and grapple with the depth of the biblical story.
Oliver M of Year 11 reflected on the day, saying, “Other than the incredible lunch provided, the highlight of the day was the ability we had to communicate with each other and develop our leadership skills whilst focusing on the impact we can make at Swan and the legacy we can leave behind.”
The day provided a great opportunity for the captains to connect, grow as leaders, and focus on the difference they can make within the College community.
