On Monday 17 June over 250 students from five SCEA Junior Schools converged in the Maali Mia Theatre for a day of Choral singing.
All students were members of their respective school choirs and came to join forces and combine into a massed choir. As well as singing all together, each school’s choir presented one of their pieces as an item to the other schools.
The workshop was run by guest conductor Mrs Kristy Raymond. The students involved enjoyed all kinds of vocal warmups and exercises before working on pieces including A Million Dreams, Oye la Musica and a medley of rounds.
The day finished with the students singing through all the pieces they had worked on throughout the day to an audience of parents who were wowed by the fantastic sound of so many voices working together in harmony.
