Year 9 student Hayden successfully completed his first solo flight over the school holidays, where he flew a Cessna 152 around Jandakot airport all by himself.
He has been taking flying lessons for the past four years but had to wait until he turned 15 years old to fly by himself. In order to fly solo, Hayden needed to complete around 12 hours in the air with his instructor, plus several theory lessons and exams.
He will now be flying solo often while learning higher level skills in order to achieve the next milestone which is his first Pilot’s Licence when he turns 16. Hoping to one day fly for Qantas, he is very determined to achieve his goal.
Please join us in congratulating Hayden on this outstanding achievement!
