At Swan, we love to celebrate the success of our students. Naomi in Year 11 is one such student.
Naomi started to play AFL in 2017; playing at school and at her local club, Upper Swan. She was an instant hit and thus gained a place in the state academy. One year later, Naomi went on to play for the U16 state team.
That state representation continued again this year in addition to reaching the Rogers Cup Final with her local club Upper Swan.
Naomi’s latest achievement has been to play in the West Australian Women’s Football League (WAWFL) for Swan Districts: since her debut against Subiaco a month ago, she has been a regular midfielder and has received notable commendations in the press. She will be heading off with the U18 state team in July, to compete in the interstate competition on the Gold Coast.
We wish her every success in her sporting endeavours and share her hope that she can be a role model for other students who want to try a new sport or take an achievement to the next level.
