Our Cupcake fundraiser and Casual for a Cause Day raised $3,484.35 for the Cancer Council and Principal Adrian Scott’s Cancer 200 Ride for Research. 900 cupcakes were baked in total by the Year 6 and Year 12 students as well as some Hospitality students. The ingredients were generously donated by the SCC Parent Community.
“It was a fun and joyful experience for all who participated. We had so much fun decorating and icing the cupcakes, and we may have had a little snack along the way,” said Nikki of Year 6. The Year 12s chose to support the Cancer Council this year and they demonstrated a willingness to serve with many students helping to sell cupcakes, bake them and some students even washing dishes for four hours.
Students and staff donated a gold coin to come in free dress, and 600 cupcakes were sold and a total of $3,484.35was raised. A quilt which was donated by Mr Scott’s friend was also silently auctioned for $335.
The $3,420.50 will be donated to the Cancer Council and Mr Scott’s Cancer 200 Ride for Research who will be riding 200km in October to raise funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Thanks goes out to the College Parent Committee, staff, students and parents for helping to make this event a wonderful success and raising much-needed funds for cancer research. Their generosity and servant hearts really make a difference in the lives of many affected by cancer.
