The sun shone down on the Year 3 students as they trekked from the bus down to Pump Station Number 1 at Mundaring Weir.
The students had spotted the famous Golden Pipeline from the bus as we made our way there. They have been learning about the fascinating history of how water got to the goldfields and how the pipeline came to be built. They did their own pumping challenge getting water from Mundaring Weir to Mt Charlotte reservoir, took on the role of important people in the history of the goldfields and got to walk on the wall.
We could have spent much more time exploring the pump station and all of the information about the history of Pump Station Number 1!
Special thanks to our guides and our parent helpers who braved the many, many steps.
