The young gentlemen and ladies of our Year 9 cohort have formally invited their mums and dads to a formal evening dinner.
The Year 9 students have been studying a program which focuses on identity through the concept of a rite of passage. The idea of being a godly man or woman with values and ethics is taught and encouraged throughout this program.
Students have been encouraged to put into action two concepts:
- Honouring our fathers and mothers.
- Budgeting and being good stewards of money.
The Mums and Sons evening on Monday 12 November is for all Year 9 boys and a female ‘motherly’ representative to attend with them. The boys are welcome to bring their mum, nana, aunty, older sister or another female who has invested heavily into their lives over their journey.
The Dads and Daughters evening on Tuesday 13 November is for all Year 9 girls and a male father representative to attend with them. The Year 9 student is welcomed to bring either their father, pop, uncle, older brother or any other male who has invested heavily into their lives over their journey.
During the dinners, the students will have the opportunity to lead their mother or father in formal etiquette (learned during our course) as they partake in a three-course meal together.
Further information about the two evenings has been emailed to all Year 9 parents and guardians.
We look forward to seeing you and your son or daughter there!
Please note that this will be an alcohol-free event. For any enquiries, please contact Mr Bergin on the College number.
