God’s two greatest commandments are to love God and love others. To love everyone equally is a true sign of our love for God and our desire to live Christ-like lives. Hospitality is known as entertaining and welcoming guests or visitors. It is a genuine way to show love for others! In Romans 15:7, we read “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God”.
So, in this, our first Inform for the year, it is a delight to welcome our new families to the College and welcome back those who are already part of our family. It feels a little strange to be writing a welcome after having written quite a few communications in the past couple of weeks, but I must tell you that the College comes alive when our students and their families are on site.
Our community is acutely aware that we have some families who continue to suffer because of the terrible fires that hit during the lock-down week. Please do not hesitate to contact the College if you need support. Our Swan Community Outreach parent group have been amazing and are grateful for the donations of goods, money and the fundraising that has enabled them to provide care to so many.
I must also commend the students and teachers who have settled so quickly into their learning programs and routines.
As you read this, performances of our Fenceline Theatre’s “Antigone” as part of Perth’s Fringe Festival will be almost over. I have no doubt those of you who attended will appreciate the skill of the performers and the wonderful work of Fenceline’s Director; Jane Hille.
As the term unfolds in the coming weeks, I remind all parents that we love seeing you in the College and you are welcome on campus. Do not forget that coffee is available in the mornings at “How Ya Bean”. Perhaps I will see you there.
