This is the final edition of Inform for this year. As I sit in my office to write to you, I am reminded of many of the wonderful moments we have shared as a community, and I spoke about some of these at our Celebration Evening. It has been a blessing and a privilege to be Principal of Swan for these past six years. My sincere thanks to all parents who have entrusted students into our care during this time.

The people at our College and the relationships we sustain are the strength of our College community. The dedicated staff and supportive parents enjoy working together. We encourage the students to be creative and confident through a tradition of academic rigour whilst nurturing a strong sense of social responsibility. Our students are a gift to all of us and their enthusiasm embodies our vision and God’s love.

So now it is time for me to wish you well and say goodbye. God brought me to Swan Christian College for a reason. God brought me here for a season. That season is now over, and it is time for me and for you to embrace the next phase of each of our journeys.

I encourage you all to cherish the next stage of your journey at Swan. Go into it boldly, confident in God’s love and sure in the knowledge that this is His place, and He will have His hand over all that happens here.

I would like to finish with Howard Thurman’s A Christmas Prayer for Action

“When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone, when the kings and princes are home, when the shepherds are back with the flocks, then the work of Christmas begins: To find the lost, to heal those broken in spirit, to feed the hungry, to release the oppressed, to rebuild the nations, to bring peace among all peoples, to make a little music with the heart. And to radiate the Light of Christ, every day, in every way, in all that we do and in all that we say. Then the work of Christmas begins.”.

Thank you and may God continue to richly bless Swan Christian College.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

Psalm 34:8
