The Year 1 students enjoyed a wonderful day at Peninsula Farm investigating life in Australia in the past.
Dressed in olden days’ clothes, the students enjoyed learning about a real-life family that settled in Maylands 180 years ago, the Hardey family. This family had five girls and one boy, and they lived in a prime position on the peninsula. What an amazing property to explore, ask questions and be immersed in some old-fashioned fun, games, crafts and learning activities.
Thank you to our parent helpers who supervised the hopscotch and the egg and spoon races, who ran tug-of-wars and even jumped rope with the kids. We were very proud of our students’ maturity, manners and inquiry skills. What a fabulous day!
