During Week 8 of term, we held the Grand Finals of the interhouse netball competition in the gym at lunchtime on Tuesday and Wednesday. For the Year 12s it was their last opportunity to represent their House in any form of competition and I’d like to personally thank all those Year 12s who not only participated this year, but throughout their time here at Swan Christian College.
The final in the Year 7/8 division was between Bennett and Kennedy and it was played on Tuesday. Kennedy had a really strong team and went through the round robin fixture undefeated. They carried that form into the Grand Final, defeating Bennett 7-4.
The Year 9/10 and 11/12 Grand Finals were held on Wednesday at lunchtime. The Year 9/10 final was between Bennett and Mungulu. It was a hotly contested Grand Final with Bennett avenging their early season loss to Mungulu by taking out the match 13-10.
The Year 11/12 Grand Final was between Mungulu and Kennedy in a re-match of the round before. Mungulu fielded a very strong team and managed to get some revenge on Kennedy for their previous round loss, taking out the final 22-15.
Well done to Kennedy, Bennett and Mungulu for winning their respective finals. In terms of overall House Sport wins over the past year, Kennedy came out on top with Bennett in second and Bell in third. These results will go towards the overall House Shield for 2020.
Next term we are going to be doing some inter-house soccer so keep an eye out for more information on this early next term.
