The Year 9 Japanese class were invited to Ishikiya Restaurant in Cale Street, Midland to learn about traditional Japanese winter flavours and dishes.
The students were able to taste a warming soup dish called Udon with either chicken or tempura prawns. It was really wonderful to see the talents displayed by all students using chopsticks to eat the slippery udon noodles in broth.
The students also tasted the unique flavours of Japanese ice cream made from red beans and green tea which was quite an experience for many. The students were true ambassadors of our College and the restaurant has invited our students back next year for a similar experience which is fantastic! Thank you Year 9s!
