We kicked off the day at Meiji Jingu (Shrine). Meiji Jingu is a very beautiful place. The Japanese people often celebrate special days like birthdays and weddings here, we were able to do this as it was Caleb’s birthday. After visiting the shrine for a couple of hours, we crossed the road and left the world of traditional Japanese Culture and entered one of Japanese Pop Culture. The rest of the day was spent exploring Harujuku – Tokyo’s shopping district. We were able to look in the hundreds of quirky little shops, indulge in Harajuku’s delicious crepes and soak up the unique atmosphere. We then made our way through the busiest crosswalk in Tokyo, Shibuya crosswalk before enjoying the electronic sushi train. Overall a busy and eye opening day.
