The students in Kindy C enjoyed visiting the elderly at the Regis Nursing Home.
The students treated residents to a special song about grandparents and then a few songs about the story of Jesus’ birth. The residents’ faces lit up with smiles as they clapped along.
Following our performance each child chose a nana or pop as their subject for a portrait. The children took this very serious and created some beautiful artworks. It was lovely to see them receive their gifts with delight.
The students were treated to a story read by one of the beautiful elderly at the nursing home, who shared her own life experiences in response to the text. We finished the visit with a quick parachute game and a high five to each of the residents.
It was very encouraging to hear one lady call out “Please make sure you come back again next year! We have loved your visits.”
