On 20 and 21 September, Johnny Comelately was an outstanding success and was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience in the Maali Mia Theatre. Our Year 4 to 6 students all gave a fantastic performance and for some of them this was their theatrical debut.
Pyjama Days are such fun days and we thought that the Kindy students would love it. The students were so excited to come in their pyjamas and have a little party with us. All three kindergarten classes came together to celebrate each other and play.
Congratulations to Kennedy house for being recently crowned the senior house champions for 2021-2022!
Tod Bolsinger the Associate Professor of Leadership Formation at Fuller Theological Seminary recently presented on the concept of how not to waste a crisis at the Christian Schools Australia (CSA) conference in Cairns. His book Canoeing the Mountains outlines this concept and is pitched against the story of American explorers Lewis and Clark, who were given the mission of discovering a waterway that would lead all the way to the Pacific Ocean from the newly settled East coast of the US.
On Tuesday 13 September, our students showed off their creativity at our Art Showcase Opening Night! Art featured from Year 1 to Year 12 was on display and they definitely dazzled us with their wonderful skills and talent.
AVCAT scholarships, including the Long Tan Bursary, are tertiary scholarships for the children and grandchildren of Australian ex-serving veterans. Scholarships are $4000$6000 per year for three years.
On Wednesday 7 September, our Senior School athletics team travelled to WA Athletics Stadium to compete in the ACC E-Division Carnival. After being demoted from D-Division last year, our team motto this year was Operation Promotion as we aimed to get the win and move back up into D-Division. After a tight tussle at the top of the leader board all day Swan managed to finish strongly in the relays securing top spot! Congratulations to all the students who represented our College with pride today!
We are excited to announce that we will soon we be introducing an online payment tool via parent lounge called Events and Payments to reduce the amount of cash handling and enable you to easily pay for a range of other items such as leavers jackets, major camps etc. Please remember that our parent lounge is our preferred method for setting up a regular payment plan so if you are not already making use of this facility, we would encourage you to do so.
Following an announcement by the State Government in August regarding the opening of the Airport Line, we have been informed of significant changes to the TransPerth bus network in the Eastern suburbs, taking effect from Monday, 10 October 2022.
We understand that this time of year is a time where some families might consider moving as job opportunities arise or that life circumstances may change. We would like to remind our community that one school terms notice in writing must be addressed to the Principal and sent to enrolments@swan.wa.edu.au of the intention to withdraw a student from the College.
