Dear Families

As the Chair of the Parent Christian Life Committee, I am thrilled to share the wonderful support our community has shown over the past year! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls and volunteered at the Junior School Athletics Carnival. Your generosity has made a significant impact, and we have raised over $6,000! As a committee, we are looking to work with the school and donate toward the Junior School RISE and SHINE room.

Additionally, we formed a fantastic partnership with Providence Church for our Taste and See program. Over four weeks, we enjoyed great messages, deep and meaningful conversations, and delicious food while unpacking the Christian faith together.

A special thanks to Helen Gilson for her dedicated work running our Community Outreach Program. Thanks to the purchases made through our second-hand uniform shop, we have been able to donate over $4,000 to schools in Zambia and the Philippines, while also supporting people within our school community going through difficult times. We will have further opportunities to give by gathering items for Christmas Hampers for those less fortunate in our local community.

I also want to express my gratitude to Steven Sonneman-Smith, Mark Schorer, Andrew Murfin and staff for their hard work organising the ‘Fathers and Kids Campout’. Your efforts helped create a memorable experience for families and foster a strong sense of community.

Thank you to Andrew Murfin for championing our Containers for Change initiative and purchasing specific bins. While we’ve made progress, further education and engagement are needed to ensure students place only the correct items in the bins, as this will help reduce sorting time.

A huge thank you to the Parents in Partnership Committee for facilitating connection and clear communication within K–7. They still have their upcoming Community Movie Night, which promises to be a fantastic event for our community!

Finally, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the committee for their commitment and dedication in upholding the school in prayer, along with the Monday Morning Prayer group. We farewelled Pippa Van Ryk, who completed her term to take a job at Swan, and Cheri MacDonagh, who has finished her remarkable ten-year term. We are deeply grateful for their service and dedication.

Thank you all for your continued support and involvement. I hope you have a wonderful end to the year, a cherished time remembering Jesus’ birth, and a refreshing holiday. Looking forward to another great year in 2025.

Blessings,

Mrs Melissa Cameron
