The Year 3 and Year 4 String Program culminated in a wonderful concert in the Maali Mia Theatre.
More than 60 students performed together on their violins, violas and cellos. They played eight pieces which they had learned over the preceding 12 weeks. Our wonderfully talented tutors performed as a quartet and the older students in the string ensemble also played.
The concert was a lot of fun with a variety of styles being demonstrated from rock and reggae to baroque. The pieces from the book we use include fun backing tracks and students learned a lot about playing together as a team and watching the conductor.
I strongly encourage the parents of those children involved in the program to keep going with the music lessons as music teaches so many skills that apply to all aspects of life.
