The Swan Writer’s Guild is an English Department initiative launched on this 40th anniversary year of Swan Christian College. Entry into the Guild is by the achievement of 80% and over in the preceding year’s result in English alongside being in the highest selection of students thus represented.
Students displayed a combination of creative and analytical writing flair, avid readership, public speaking prowess, listening dexterity and viewing aptitude, therefore deserving of the honour and recognition of Swan Writer’s Guild membership.
At the final assembly of Term 1, students received a silver quill pin to proudly wear on their College blazer. Furthermore, inclusion in the Swan Writer’s Guild qualifies students for an exclusive bi-term email update on competitions and professional writing tips and tricks from our very own resident author and Swan English teacher T.C. Shelley. This year’s current Year 7s will be honoured later this year.
