On Friday 3 May, two teams, of predominantly Year 6 students, made their way to the Ron Jose oval in Midvale to participate in the AFL WACSSA carnival. The day was full of fun and excitement, and of course hard work, on the part of the participants, as they competed in game after game representing our school so well.
Both teams came out strong, worked well as a team and played hard. For the boys, there was some tough competition and they finished in third place. The girls won every game put before them bringing home the flag for the school. Every participant should be proud of their efforts.
There was an extra surprise for the day when students discovered who the coach was for one of the girls teams – Ben Cousins. He was focused on his team (and being a dad), however made time for autographs before everyone headed home.
A massive thank you to all students who participated displaying our RISE (respect, integrity, spirituality and excellence) values throughout the day; and thank you to our parents who came to cheer us on – we value your support.
