On 2 June, the whole of Junior School hosted an event called Winter Woollies Day! Each class had the opportunity to create decorations so that their classroom had a wintry feeling.
For this occasion, the Junior School arranged activities according to the winter theme. This involved making colourful, fluffy pom poms, roasting soft, fluffy marshmallows, creating wonderful decorations and a special STEM program.
Students of all years were able to come to school in their warm woollies, beanies, scarves and dressing gowns, with a gold coin donation that will go towards food hampers for our outreach program. $414.30 was raised in total from gold coin donations and food.
During this special day, we also set up a snow machine to fit in with the winter theme. At different times, all the students from the different years had the opportunity to toast marshmallows safely within reach of an open fire! The soft, creamy marshmallow was toasted by the heat of the fire as the students safely enjoyed the tasty, exciting experience.
