Pre Primary had a fun, interactive day learning about earthworms! The students couldn’t wait to roll up their sleeves to handle and observe the worms up close.
We listened to interesting facts on reducing waste using worms and worm farms. Did you know that earthworms have no eyes, ears or teeth but they have five hearts? Worms can eat their entire body weight worth of food in one day, which makes them fantastic waste reducers for our food scraps. Some worms like the Gippsland worm can grow as long as three Pre Primary students!
The students were really excited to dig for slimy, wriggly worms and to be given the opportunity to examine them with magnifying cups. We even made our own mini worm farms to take home and share with our family and friends.
