In Year 6, students are afforded the opportunity to be a part of the design process for their leavers jackets. Students submit their ideas and their peers will vote on the designs put forward. The creativity of the students, whether they have worked on the design individually, or as part of a group, is amazing! Each and every person who put forward their idea is to be commended.
This year, the voting was extremely close, however the final design was submitted by a small group of girls: Harriet S, Sophia J and Alika H. With the graphic design help of Marketing and Communications Officer, Mrs Kirsten Page, the artwork was prepared for printing.
Their design was inspired by the mythological phoenix; an bird that goes through a process of being ‘born again’. To the girls, this represented both hope and the desire to try and try again to be the best version of yourself.
The end result not only shows the phoenix strong, it is also displaying our RISE values confidently.
