Each year, the Year 2 students and the parent community work together to raise money for their sponsor child, Joshua. Joshua is a part of the Light up Ahead School in Kantalomba and he has been a part of our Year 2 community for five years now.
This year, it was decided that we would create jars and fill them with treats to be sold to the Year 1-6 students. On Wednesday, 23September, the Year 2s were able to create over 200 jars to be sold and raised $1418.80!
The fundraiser relied solely on the donations and efforts of the students, parents and teachers and we have been blown away by the level of generosity. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and assisted in the running of the event- it is truly humbling!
It is a wonderful thing to see children seek to be generous to the less fortunate!
