Last week Year 3 students travelled to the Literature Centre in Fremantle to explore stories and illustrations.
Students were excited at the sight of the Fremantle Prison right next door and after chatting about this they embarked on their telling of The Boy and the Toy by Sonya Hartnett and Lucia Masciullo and Suri’s Wall by Lucy Estela and Matt Ottley, using only the pictures. After this amazing journey through illustrations, we headed to Heathcote Park for lunch.
Some quotes from students about the experience:
It was very interesting when we saw all the pictures of the books – Addison B.
I loved it when the black curtain was moved to show us the pictures that were hidden so we had to predict the end of the story – Linden Mc.
The books were really exciting and they were a bit crazy too! – Oliver M.
I really enjoyed it when Jenny and Bek finally read the books to us. I loved both books and I think they had lots of detail in the pictures – Rachael S.
