As part of Year 4 science this term, the students have been learning about the growth of plants.
Of course, this begins with observing the growth of their own plants, something the students did earlier this term when they began germinating bean seeds.
In conjunction with their science project, as part of Design and Technologies, the students have also been designing and building their own sapling protectors so that we could plant the beans and continue to observe them grow. Just recently, the students were able to plant their beans into a new garden bed with their protectors to give them the best chance of survival.
Our hope is that the beans will continue to grow and that when ready to “harvest” they will support the College’s Super Soupers program.
