The 5A assembly celebrated the learning experienced by students over the course of the year, anchored within a strong biblical message.
The students performed an extract from the novel “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupery. The key message of the assembly was delivered by the character of the fox who reveals an important secret: “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Students explained how this meant that the most valuable things in life cannot be seen with the naked eye: love, friendship, hope, integrity, trust and compassion. When we love God, we are called to reach out in companionship with others – our neighbours – both locally and globally. Students went on to share their recollection of the 5A camp and performed a musical dance item inspired by the Cold Play lyrics “A Head Full of Dream” which captured the spirit of learning in 2017.
Finally, students shared a video production which communicated important cyber safety principles for all students who use digital technology.
The assembly proved to be a wonderful success as students celebrated the year and gave thanks to God as a school community through praise and worship.
