In Year 9, we are introducing our students to the fascinating world of Physics to help them understand the principles of light and vision through hands-on experiences. During our recent Year 9 Physics unit about Light, students were excited to undertake the incredible learning opportunity of dissecting a cow eye.
By examining the anatomy of the eye up close, students were able to gain a deeper appreciation for how light interacts with the eye, from the cornea to the retina. This experience not only reinforced their understanding of the physics of light but also enhanced their overall knowledge of biology and the human sensory system.
Above all, hands-on practical lessons such as these aim to spark curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine enthusiasm for Science, making them enriching and memorable learning experiences for our students.
