On Friday 25 November the Year 10 Business students marketed and sold Powerade and G Fuel energy drinks to fans watching the students versus teachers’ soccer match. The Business students had researched the most popular energy drinks brands on the market, then sourced a local supplier for energy drinks, purchased at the most reasonable prices to maximise their profits. These talented young entrepreneurs’ homework clearly paid off when they accumulated $170 worth of product sales during just one break. They also sponsored the half-time drinks, offering free G Fuel to the Year 10 soccer team. The students clearly benefitted from the superior refreshment, turning a 0-0 score line into a handsome 3-1 win for the students, which seemed to indicate an advantage from consuming this popular new energy drink!
On Monday 28 November the Year 9 Business students participated in a Business Fair at the College. One group had 3-D printed products inspired by superstar, Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson. These proved to be very popular to both students and teachers alike as all the stock sold out on the day. This group showed keen initiative by taking orders and payment for more products to be printed and delivered in the next couple weeks. Another group had homemade brownies, lolly bags and cooldrinks. Again, these students had done their market research well, selling an impressive $230 worth of products during recess and lunch breaks on the day. Students benefitted from the practical experience of researching, marketing, advertising, production and finally interacting with customers to complete impressive sales results.
